Mrs. Donohue was born and raised on the island and was a product of Christ the King School and St Anthony Junior and Senior High School. After graduating from St. Anthony, Mrs. Donohue, left the islands to pursue her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Puget Sound in Washington State.
It is there in Washington where Mrs Donohue began her teaching career as a K-6 Special Education teacher. After about a decade of being away from home, Mrs. Donohue and her young family moved back to Maui where she continued teaching Special Education for the Department of Education. Then in 2000, Mrs. Donohue found herself back in the grade school she graduated from -- this time as a teacher. “It was hard to believe I’m back,” says Mrs. Donohue of the time she first walked in her classroom. She also says that it is a great blessing to be back at Christ the King School to share the gifts that God has given her and to be able to teach the children about who Jesus is.
When not in school Mrs Donohue loves to spend time with her family, hanging out at the beach, working at Keiki Corner, and simply “kicking back”
