"LIVE ALOHA" | “Fine Arts based approach to education,” says Mrs Quinabo, “is an effective way of providing an avenue for integration with other curriculum areas. “ Throughout her 20 plus years as a teacher, she has embraced this belief and has applied it in her classroom. The skills used to complete a fine arts assignment, like decision making, problem solving, and critical thinking are skills the students can apply other subject areas. So art is not only fun for children, but also helps enhance their educational experience.
Mrs Quinabo’s education background includes an Associate in Arts degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of California, Foothills Campus, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Almeda University, and a Fine Arts diploma from the Strattford Art Institute. Besides her degrees in intellect, Mrs Quinabo holds an advanced status of Brown Belt in Taekwondo, which is a form of Korean martial arts.
When not in the classroom or the dojo, you’ll find Mrs Quinabo outdoors in upcountry Maui training future equestrians or training canines. |
